In der Tat: Nach dem Absegeln und nachdem das Schiff wieder fest an Land steht, hat man endlich wieder Zeit sich um Details die während der Saison liegengeblieben sind, zu kümmern. Im Re-fit bereich haben wir Ende August das Projekt IF 1239 mit einem schönen Ergebnis abgeschlossen:
Unter anderem wurde das Freibord im aufwendigem Gel-Coat-Verfahren aufbereitet, eine Teak Scheuerleiste angefertigt und montiert, die gesamte Inneneinrichtung raus genommen und aufarbeitet und die Elektrik erneuert.

We moored at one of the pontoons in the marina, and had a fine dinner in one of the charming restaurants and the quay-side. The Hartlepool Marina has all facilities: Electricity, water, showers etc.

The day after, we went back to Newcastle and the "Royal Quays Marina".
An excursion to Hadrians Wall on August 21st marked the end of our
Northumberland adventure. Hadrian's Wall was established by the Romans between
AD 122 -128 as a defence against the Scottish and Irish tribes.

The Hadrian wall. Almost 2000 years old!The Seacamper 810 was lifted out of the water at "Royal Quays" and gently placed
on it's trailer. After wrapping the boat up and lashing all loose ends down, the "train"
was ready for the ferry-trip back to Ijmuiden /Amsterdam and on to Berlin.
A fine and interesting cruise it was! Some 200 NM all in all, and many beautiful
impressions of people and country.A big "thank you" to ship and crew!

But then, within the last 50 meter, it is clear: The lock is there! - and it is very small indeed. Never the less we try to enter and,

Voila! - we fit in. Who should have thought that?! This must be the smallest lock I have ever passed through.

On the other side of the lock, the water way widens and an occasional farm building show up. Slowly more buildings, and even small towns join and we realise that we are getting closer to the City of randenburg. Briest in the warm evening light.

Before we end the journey, we decide to stay the last night for anchor, just north of Plaue, south west of "Kalten-Hausen". A beautiful sunset over the bay lends the evening swim an enchanting atmosphere ! The next morning, the last day of our trip, we arrive at our point of departure, the well equipped marina at Plaue.

We will be dreaming of the beautiful sceneries of the "West-Havelland" for a long time. So much nature, so much water, and very little people. A perfect region to relax in and spend time with the family. This is certainly the closest you get to the Amazonas in this corner of the world!

The next day, 23.06.2012 we set off to Stralsund.

A long leg with winds mostly against us varying from 3 - 6 bft and a cruising

speed between 7 and 12 kts( in periods 16 kts).
